PM Modi to Visit Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic for Bilateral Talks and SCO Summit

New Delhi, August 28, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uzbekistan from August 29 to 30 for a bilateral visit and the Kyrgyz Republic from August 31 to September 1 to attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.

At the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, PM Modi will undertake his fourth visit to Uzbekistan. During his stay in Tashkent, he will hold delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Uzbekistan.

The two leaders are expected to review cooperation in key areas including trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people ties. They will also discuss ways to advance the shared development visions of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Uzbekistan-2030.

During his visit to Tashkent, PM Modi is also expected to visit the Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.

Following his Uzbekistan visit, the Prime Minister will travel to the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in the 26th SCO Summit, where leaders are expected to discuss regional and international issues and cooperation among SCO member states.
