PM Modi Conferred Uzbekistan’s Highest Honour for Foreign Leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Sunday conferred with Uzbekistan’s highest honour for foreign leaders, the “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order (Order of Highest Friendship), by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The honour recognises PM Modi’s contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between India and Uzbekistan.

Accepting the award, PM Modi dedicated the honour to the 1.4 billion people of India and described it as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two countries and their shared civilisational heritage.

He also said the honour brings added responsibility for India to work with Uzbekistan as partners of the Global South for the betterment of humanity.

The conferment of the “Oliy Darajali Do’stlik” Order highlights the deep-rooted civilisational ties between India and Uzbekistan and the growing strength of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
